Røros
The 350-year old mining town is a unique place which is found
worthy of a place on UNESCO`s Worlds Heritage List. Wandering
around in the streets here is like stepping back centuries
in time. But Røros is also a small town that is very
much alive, with charming cafés and interesting workshops,
galleries and small shops with arts and crafts. You can buy
locally designed clothes and woollen blankets as well as regional
food specialities.
The
Røros region, with two national parks, offers exciting
possibilities for outdoor activities.
Outdoor experiences are
renewed each season; every season offers its own, fantastic
possibilities.
Trondheim
The historical capital of Norway, Trondheim, is situated two
and a half hours away from Røros by car, bus or train.
In Trondheim, you feel the presence of history everywhere.
In the middle of the town you will find the Nidaros Cathedral,
the largest medieval building in any of the Nordic countries.
Today,
Trondheim is a major centre for advanced technology, research
and education, and the great amount of students contributes
to create a teeming city life. Trondheim offers a variety
of cultural activities, among them theatres, galleries, museums,
as well as arenas for concerts with different kinds of music
and performing arts.
